This is a poster from the band Gorillaz– they are notorious for their 2D images and art. This poster also explores many regions of color schemes that are added to the faces of the members, specifically the dark, neon colors that help create the artists’ expressions, tone and musical genre.
I chose this image of Gorillaz because the design generates things that perform and give a sense of what if focuses on– in this case, it is each of member’s faces. I think its very interesting to see the details that these characters have individually, since they are all completely different from one another. The details and textures on their faces are made up of different details– they have different color schemes and dark highlights that seem to make their facial expressions and their body positions. There are tons of details that are eye-catching to the viewer, especially the colors and dark, flat highlights of their faces, necks and clothing.
Through the use of color, texture and detail, this image shows a strong performance in helping portray each of the members personalities and moods.
