This is a poster made from am LA print shop of Khalid’s 2017 album “American Teen”. The original album cover is a photograph of him standing in front of a mountain range with the title of the album on the top. I like this print for its simplicity in the silhouette, but also attention to detail in the contrasting colors of the mountains. I also enjoy the geometric elements that this print provides in that it gives off a layering effect while also highlighting the shadows and depth of the mountains as well as the creases in his pants and shirt. The solid blue background really makes the foreground pop. By eliminating the title of the album from this print, it allows the eye to really focus in on the details it has to offer. This print is special to me for I have it in my room, and I truly believe it has open my eyes to appreciate the attention to detail the artist has put in and also how graphic design can enhance the simplicity of an image.
