This Mercedes-Benz ad caught my attention. It’s an ad marketed towards their clients, urging the importance of continuing car service and maintenance with the company. It has a steel cool grey colored background with a mechanic tool as the main subject. The shadow/reflection of the wrench forms a dinosaur motif – with “Unofficial Service can be dangerous.” Obviously, the car company is considered a luxury and foreign car company.
With that being said, I’ve noticed that not many high-end brands, businesses and companies waste their time making commercials or ads trying to target a certain audience – they know their worth and their sought out – potential clients will come to them.
Notice how you don’t see many ads for Hermes, Buccellati, or even Tesla. So I found it interesting that Mercedes did make an ad. The message they’re trying to depict is the value of their car. Getting maintenance done from third party mechanics, purchasing car parts from second hand auto parts can damage the value of the car. Although, simplicity is at its best here with the ad I chose this poster ad because they didn’t have to do much to get their point across. The colors are very cool and soothing to the eye, and they fit the company’s luxurious aesthetic as well.
