First off, I love the references to Ariana and how they aren’t super outward. You cut up the letters in a nice way so it seems like parts of the letter are hiding behind the black background. You created a nice square/rectangular form in the middle that you don’t necessarily notice at first.
Hi! I was just looking through peoples submissions for fun and I just wanted to drop in and say I loved yours. I want to know more about your the meaning behind it/what inspired your work! 🙂
Omg hi! Thank you so much, it means lot 🙂 When I start pieces, I get inspired by listening to music and scrolling through Pinterest. I love music, so I wanted to base this project off one of my favorite artists and their lyrics or songs since I wanted my piece to not only be letters, but have meaning. I chose Ariana Grande since she just released a new album and I resonate with a lot of her lyrics. The big letters actually spell out Positions, her new album, and the phrases in small lettering are some of my favorite songs from her that I resonate with from my life and really get me in a “deep thoughts mood”. Actually listened to all these songs on loop while finishing this project. For the design element, I thought of it like spiraling into those thoughts, so I wanted to create depth with the size of the letters and used space to make sort of an invisible shape to emphasize this depth.
